- Material compatibility first - confirm your plastic type before selecting a machine. ABS, acetal, and two-layer engraving plastics work well. PVC is prohibited. Polycarbonate melts rather than cuts cleanly and is not recommended for CO2 processing.
- Laser power - 40-60W is sufficient for engraving ABS, acetal, and two-layer plastics; 80W is used for cutting thicker plastic sheets (4-6 mm) where the material composition allows it.
- Work area - a 500×300 mm table covers most label and small panel needs; larger signage requires 600×400 mm or 900×600 mm formats.
- Ventilation - plastic engraving and cutting produces fumes. A dedicated extraction system is required regardless of production volume.
